So…

Here are my thoughts on The Life Devo by Andrew Farland and why you should read it.

What’s It About

The Life Devo by Andrew Farland is a 366-day devotional designed to not only impact your personal relationship with God but to help others come to know God as well. Available in both digital and physical format, The Life Devo has full-page daily devotionals with color images and modern-styled text that make this devotional as engaging visually as it is spiritually.

Each day’s devotional is short and accessible but still packed with truth. Andrew will share a thought from God’s Word to encourage and challenge you right where you are in your walk with God and point you to a verse of Scripture related to that theme. Over the course of the year, you will dive into topics like waiting on God, hearing God’s voice, God’s heart for you when you face struggles, how to know your calling, what to do when someone wrongs you and more.

What especially makes this devotional unique is that for every copy purchased, Andrew Farland and his digital missionary team are able to share the message of the gospel with 6,500 people across the world.

How It Impacted Me

I love that each devotional is just a page long, allowing me spend a few minutes meditating on that day’s topic if that’s what my schedule permits or I can spend as much time lingering and delving deeper into the topics that day’s devotional brings up if I feel led to. I also appreciate that it highlights a main point to take away from every devo, which I like to reflect on and talk to God about throughout my day.

So far, I’ve especially loved the devo about waiting on God. Andrew points to what the Bible says about how God doesn’t reveal His plan for our lives all at once, but rather over time. I constantly struggle with wanting to know more of God’s plan for my life than I need to know in the moment. And when I’m asking Him for wisdom in decision making or taking next steps I, like Andrew, am not super patient in waiting for God to respond.

This devo reminded me that God has a plan and I can trust God and His leadership in my life–even when I can’t see all the pieces yet and even if He doesn’t give me answers as quickly as I would like them.

Why You Should Read It

We all need a jump start in our faith or in the Word at times. We can all learn, be encouraged and be inspired to seek God deeper when a brother or sister in Christ shares truth with us from the Word. Nothing can replace a personal lifestyle of deep, prayerful, Spirit-led study in the Bible.

When used well, however, devotionals can help each of us connect with God and add fuel to the fire in our hearts to dive deep into relationship with God and into His Word. The Life Devo is one of the best devotionals I’ve found to help you and I do that.

Whether you are a new believer or have been a Christian for a while, God will speak to you through The Life Devo. While you grow in your relationship with God, you will help others hear the message of Jesus who need to know Him. With The Life Devo, Andrew Farland has created a daily devotional that is spiritually impactful, creatively excellent, and boldly missional. Don’t miss out on this resource.
