If you’re a Christian, you’re different now. In the moment you heard and believed the message about Jesus and responded by repenting from sin and confessing your faith in Him, you were saved by God—and so much changed in your life spiritually.
Ephesians 1:3 tells us that God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing because we’re united with Christ. So, in this episode, we’re going to chat about five of those blessings and learn what the Bible says about how placing your faith in Jesus and becoming a Christian changes your life.

Episode Outline and Bible Verses
1. Your Sins Are Forgiven
When you put your faith in Jesus, He forgives your sins and declares you righteous in God’s sight. This is called justification. He removes the eternal penalty for your sin and gives you right standing with God—not because of any goodness or effort of your own, but because you’ve trusted in what Jesus did on the cross. Even when we still have to face natural consequences of past actions, we can live with a cleansed conscience, free from guilt and shame, confident that we’ve been made right with God.

2. You Have a New Life in Jesus
Jesus takes you from being spiritually dead because of your sins to being spiritually alive in Him. You’re born again, become a new creation, and receive the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and progressively transforms your thoughts, desires, attitudes, and actions to help you become more like Jesus. This lifelong process is called sanctification. Jesus also brings healing, freedom, and wholeness to the areas of our lives that need mending. Becoming a Christian doesn’t mean every problem disappears, but now we have Jesus to help us navigate life’s struggles and live victoriously through them.

3. You Become a Friend of God
One of my favorite things about following Jesus is that He’s my friend. When you become a Christian, your relationship with God is restored, and you can know Him personally, deeply, and closely. You can talk to Him about anything and everything, experience His love, learn His character and His Word, and grow in your relationship with Him every day.

- James 2:23
- Colossians 1:9

4. You Join the Family of God
When you put your faith in Jesus, you’re adopted into God’s family. God becomes your Heavenly Father, you become His child, and fellow Christians become your brothers and sisters in Christ. The Christian faith isn’t a solo faith. We’re called to grow together through biblical teaching, prayer, worship, fellowship, encouragement, serving one another, and sharing life together in Christian community.

5. You Have Eternal Life
As a Christian, you have the hope of knowing that when your physical life ends, your spirit will immediately go to Heaven to be with Jesus in Heaven. And when Jesus returns to this world to rule forever as King, He’ll raise His people from the dead and give us new bodies free from suffering, death, and decay. We’ll live with Him forever in a world with no more sin, sorrow, or suffering. This is the eternal inheritance God has promised to those who belong to Him.

Putting It All Together
Titus 3:3–8 beautifully summarizes what God has done for us through Jesus. Because of His mercy and grace, He has forgiven our sins, given us new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit, made us right in His sight, and given us confidence that we’ll inherit eternal life.
