Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Personal information and content submitted through contact forms on this site are used for response to inquiries only and not for marketing purposes.

Email Subscriptions
This site allows users to subscribe via forms to receive email newsletters with new blog posts and updates about this site’s news and content. These email forms are operated by MailMunch, an email opt-in service and email communication is sent via MailChimp, an email marketing client. Email addresses and names (if submitted) for newsletter subscribers are stored in MailChimp for users who choose to submit their email address and subscribe only, and are used for the purpose of communicating updates, news and announcements related to this site and it’s content.
Your information is not shared with third-parties or advertisers. Personal information submitted via email opt-in forms is securely transmitted via SSL encryption and double opt-in is required to confirm your intended subscription to emails. How Long Your Data Is Retained
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For email newsletter subscribers, your email address is retained for the duration of your subscription to the email list.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data held about you, including any data you have provided. You can also request that any personal data held about you be erased. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments and other content may be checked through Akismet anti-spam service to reduce spam. This information is not saved on my servers unless they were marked as false positives, in which case I store them long enough to use them to improve the service to avoid future false positives.
