About Me
Hey! I’m Jasmin. Nice to meet you! Before I get into how this blog came to be, let me give you a little background about who I am and what I do!
I was born into a Christian family in New York City, so I’ve always carried a unique mix of passion for Jesus and the Church with a love for the arts and culture. In fact, since I was a kid, all I’ve wanted to be is a singer and a minister because I love music so much and I want to help people get to know Jesus.
At age 12, I understood the gospel, had a personal encounter with Jesus, and gave my life to Him. He called me to ministry when I was 15. Since that age, I’ve been mentored and trained in ministry and served as a volunteer in various ministry roles over the years–preaching and teaching Bible studies, leading small groups, discipling one-on-one, and worship leading in my youth group and then as a student leader in my college campus ministry.
My fascination with performing arts, the music industry, and a deep desire to minister through Christian music and media led me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Music Industry at Connecticut’s University of New Haven, and I graduated in 2012.
In 2015, I moved to Kansas City, MO where I stepped into full-time ministry as a college campus missionary. Every day I get to serve in intercessory prayer, worship leading, teaching the Bible, discipling college students, and training them in practical ministry skills to live lives of prayer, mission, and wholehearted devotion to Jesus on their campuses as they contend for revival and awakening. My greatest privilege in life is getting to shepherd the next generation. I also get to oversee community care and development for our college ministry staff.
I launched this blog, Living Authentic Christianity, in 2016. (More on that below.) I also serve as a staff writer at two amazing Christian sites: NewReleaseToday, where I interview Christian artists, write albums reviews, and a devotional column based on lyrics to popular Christian songs, and Marked Ministry Magazine, where I write about faith in life and culture. My debut EP of original songs, All For You, was released in 2021.
It’s a testimony of God’s grace, goodness, and wise leadership in my life that He allows me to do what I love by serving Him and serving people, and I am so deeply grateful to Him for that.
I spend most of my free time keeping up with pop culture and all things music and entertainment news. I LOVE going to concerts. I have more Christian living and theology books in my house than I have room for and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Books are my friends. I love a good cup of tea, a cheesy Hallmark murder mystery film, and I have a very sweet but very rambunctious pug named Fernando.

Living Authentic Christianity practically equips seekers and believers to overcome popular misconceptions about the Christian life and follow Jesus biblically. With a biblical foundation, blog posts will challenge popular misconceptions about the Christian life that might be hindering your walk with God and share practical tips to help you follow Jesus in your everyday life.
In my observation, when people are resistant to Jesus and Christianity, they often aren’t rejecting true, biblical Christianity or the Jesus of the Bible; they’re rejecting a distorted and misunderstood version of Jesus and Christianity. Lots of us lived trapped somewhere on the spectrum of legalism, where we feel weighed down by a bunch of extra-biblical religious burdens, or lawlessness, where we think our relationship with God isn’t important and God doesn’t care how we live at all. Neither of those is true Christianity. But the truthful, God-glorifying, life-giving balance we’re all looking for is found in the truth of God’s Word–the Bible.
I know what it’s like to have to shed some wrong ideas about following Jesus that were not rooted in the Bible and let Him teach me from His Word what He’s like and what it means to follow Him. And I know the value of practical Bible teaching and discipleship that makes big concepts simple to understand and apply to our lives. So I wanted to create a space where we could discover and live biblical Christianity together and get to the heart of what it really means to follow Jesus.
