My Podcast Recommendations For Christian Young Adults

In my podcast episode My Advice For Christian College Students, I promised to share with my top podcast recommendations for Christian college students and young adults that are fun, encouraging, practical, and will help you grow in your faith. (In addition to my own Everyday Walk Podcast, of course, which I pray has been and will be a resource to you as you follow Jesus!) And podcast recommendations you shall have!

As I mentioned in the podcast episode, I am a college minister. I have been shepherding and mentoring college students and young adults in my personal life and through my work as a campus missionary for about ten years, at the time I’m publishing this. And it is a joy to pour my life into your generation and follow Jesus alongside you! So, I’m excited to share these podcasts with you! These are some of my favorite podcasts that strengthen me in my faith personally and as someone who ministers to young adults. Several of the young adults in my life watch these as well. And honestly, they are edifying for Christians of all ages, but are targeted primarily to college-aged Christians, or Christians in their 20s and 30s.

I’ll link a YouTube episode from each podcast below, but you can find all of these on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

HANDLEBAR Podcast by UPPPEROOM

HANDLEBAR is hosted by some of the pastors and worship leaders from UPPERROOM church in Dallas, TX, which you may have heard through their worship music. Each episode answers a question sent in by a listener about the Bible and life with Jesus. I appreciate that this crew doesn’t shy away from any topic; they stay grounded in the Bible and share insight with compassion, grace, and wisdom. They really care about being practical and relevant, guided by the Holy Spirit, honoring God’s Word, and helping you navigate real life scenarios with Jesus.

Some topics they’ve covered are friendship, mentorship, how to pursue someone in a dating relationship in a godly way, the gifts of the Spirit, how to grow as a worship leader, and what Christians should think about tattoos, alcohol, and weed. They spend time discussing each topic from Scripture and personal experience, and end the episode by sharing “handlebars” or practical takeaways from the conversation you can apply to your life. I am always so inspired by the passion for Jesus each of these leaders and guests carry, the depth of their personal history with the Lord, and how powerful and practical these conversations are. And I think you will be too.

Becoming Something (BeSo) with Jonathan Pokluda

Pastor Jonathan “JP” Pokluda is the pastor of Harris Creek Church in Waco, TX and he hosts the BeSo podcast alongside Nate Hilgenkamp, and Kathy Davidson. On an occasion special guests as well such Matt Chandler, John Bevere, Maddie Prewett Trout, Ben Stuart, Forrest Frank, and more. Their goal for you through the podcast, in their own words, is “for you to intentionally become the person God has called you to be.” First of all, the dynamics of their friendship and their banter are hilarious, so be prepared to laugh a lot. But they also address a wide range of topics and questions from dating, how to honor and interact with your parents as an adult, spiritual gifts, finding your calling, and what to do when your Christian friends are not acting like Jesus.

Questions With Caden by Caden Fabrizio

Caden and Bella Fabrizio are the young adult pastors at Free Chapel, and Bella is a part of worship collective ELEVATION RHYTHM as well. And I absolutely love what God is doing through them on Questions With Caden, whether featuring both of them, or a solo episode with Caden. They both speak about following with a passion and joy that is contagious. why and how do we pray, what to do next after you’ve given your life to Jesus, do I have to forgive, is God mean, and hearing God’s voice. This podcast will really equip you practically in growing in your relationship with Jesus.

FYI Podcast with Josiah and Micah Kennealy

FYI (For Your Information) Podcast is hosted by Josiah and Micah Kennealy. They are college/young adult ministers like I am and also host the Young Adults Today podcast for leaders of young adults. So, I appreciate learning from their personal stories, biblical insights, and the advice they are giving young adults to which they minister. Each episode is themed around a practical Bible or Christian life question such as: career and calling, end times, making wise decisions, dating on a budget, what is holiness, and how to understand the Trinity.

Mature Me with Rich Wilkerson Jr.

This podcast isn’t necessarily targeted only to young adults, but the content of Mature Me is hearing from guests about their life stories, journeys with Jesus, and biblical topics and growing to maturity personally and spiritually. That is relevant topic and goal for all of us as Christians. Pastor Rich (along with his wife DawnChere)–who together senior pastor Vous Church in Miami–have been two of my favorite preachers on the planet for years. And they are voices to a young generation. Pastor Rich interviews guests of all kinds, many names you may have heard of and some you may not have, but whom he and we can all learn from. And my goodness, are they incredible conversations!

WHOA That’s Good! With Sadie Robertson Huff

Sadie Robertson Huff is the founder of Live Original, whom you might know from Duck Dynasty or as a frequent speaker at Passion Conference. Sadie is one of my favorite preachers, but I also appreciate her as an interviewer and facilitator of meaningful conversations. On WHOA That’s Good, Sadie brings in guests who are pastors and preachers, athletes, artists, and even her family members to share about their lives and walk with Jesus to share nuggets of wisdom that will help you in yours.

The one question Sadie asks each guest is “what’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?” It’s so interesting and powerful to hear how people answer that question and others as Sadie dives into other questions about their lives. If you love hearing stories, learning about Jesus through what He’s done in the lives of others, and getting wisdom, this is a great place to find that.

Fun Bonus: HERE is an episode of the aforementioned Mature Me podcast when she was a guest being interview by Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr.
